I’m not much of a food-picture guy—especially the sort of textless and contextless reblog fodder that bloats Tumblr dashboards every day—but I will bend that rule this once to say that it is sushi that taught me that food, taken seriously, is not at all one of the lesser forms of art.

The whole augmented reality bit has me torn between the joy of having torrents of information available constantly and the horror of placing yet another synthetic layer between man and his environment, when that interstitial space is already stuffed full of layer upon layer and meta-layer upon meta-layer.

I don’t think I’m alone in thinking, some days, that we should all just chuck our phones into the ocean and start actually touching objects instead of skimming their Wikipedia entries and then seeing them in a Star Wars mashup, you know?
